Kiribati Flash Butt Welder

Product Description
A flash butt welder is a highly efficient and reliable resistance welding machine that operates on the principle of “resistance heating plus upset forging.” In rim manufacturing, it serves as the critical equipment for welding the ends of profiled sections into a closed ring. With precise PLC‑based control of the entire welding process, it is the core apparatus for achieving high‑quality welds in high‑strength steel rims.
The basic process of flash butt welding is divided into three main stages:
Flash Stage (Burn‑off): The end faces of the two workpieces make slight contact under low voltage and high current. Due to the extremely small contact area, the current density is very high, generating a high‑temperature electric arc in an instant. The metal is heated, resulting in “flash” spattering, and a uniform layer of molten metal gradually forms on the end faces.
Forging stage: Once the end faces have been heated to the desired temperature—close to the melting point—the welding machine applies a substantial axial force (forging force) to rapidly compress the two molten end faces together.
Solidification and Holding Pressure: Under pressure, the liquid metal is forced out, allowing the pure solid metal to make close contact; atomic diffusion then occurs, forming a strong weld joint. The pressure is subsequently maintained for a brief period to prevent cracking.
In 2012, it was recognized as "Jilin Science and Technology Enterprise" by Jilin Science and Technology Department ". In November 2013, it became the cooperative education base of Changchun Institute of Technology.
