The automatic rim planing and rolling‑cutting unit is a critical integrated process on the steel wheel production line. It combines three key operations—planing, strengthening, and edge trimming—and, through hydraulic and automated control technologies, efficiently and reliably transforms the welded blank into a dimensionally accurate rim cylinder, laying a solid foundation for subsequent flaring and roll‑forming processes.
In simple terms, it processes rim blanks that have undergone roll‑forming and welding, with the task of refining the weld seams to produce a flat, high‑precision rim cylinder ready for the subsequent flaring and rolling operations.
The entire unit is centrally controlled by a PLC (programmable logic controller), allowing operators to set parameters on the touch screen and initiate automatic cycling. It can be integrated with upstream and downstream equipment such as roll‑forming machines, flash butt welders, and flaring machines to form an automated production line.
The entire machine uses a servo-driven gear‑rack mechanism to generate linear motion, and a hydraulic cylinder flips the workpiece out of the main body, enabling automated indexing.
In 2012, it was recognized as "Jilin Science and Technology Enterprise" by Jilin Science and Technology Department ". In November 2013, it became the cooperative education base of Changchun Institute of Technology.
