Product Description
The rim rolling machine is a specialized machining device used in the forming process of steel wheel rims. It is suitable for roll‑forming rim blanks that have undergone preceding operations such as edge rolling, butt welding, and flaring. Through multiple passes with the rolling die, the flat‑shaped rim blank is progressively shaped into a finished rim featuring a defined groove profile—such as a deep groove or a flat bottom.
Roll forming typically comprises three forming stages—pre‑forming, forming, and finish‑forming—with each stage requiring a dedicated roll‑forming machine and its corresponding die. This equipment is widely used in wheel manufacturing across industries such as automotive (buses, trucks, passenger cars), agricultural vehicles, and construction machinery.
Modern rim rolling machines typically employ a variable-frequency drive system to achieve master–slave synchronous torque control:
Each group consists of two inverters, each driving the motor of either the upper or lower pressure roller.
The master and slave units automatically adjust their torque output based on the load conditions, ensuring synchronous torque and consistent linear velocity between the two shafts.
Compared with conventional hydraulic control, this solution offers advantages such as simplified maintenance, energy efficiency, and controllable pressure.
