Product Overview
This die is specifically designed for the shrink‑finishing operation of steel‑section rims. Steel‑section rims are manufactured by steel mills through standard‑profile rolling; after roll‑forming and welding, their diameter and roundness typically exhibit deviations, necessitating reshaping via a shrink‑dies process. The die features a segmented radial‑shrinkage design: under press‑machine actuation, the shrink‑die segments converge simultaneously toward the center, applying uniform radial pressure to the rim and precisely reducing its dimensions to the target design specifications, thereby ensuring the rim’s roundness, end‑runout, and fit accuracy.
Key Features
Segmented contraction structure : The mold core consists of circumferentially evenly spaced shrinkable mold segments—typically 8 to 15 in number—which, driven by a conical surface, contract radially and synchronously toward the center, thereby applying uniform pressure to the outer wall of the rim.
Internal conical surface drive design : A conical‑inner‑surface mating structure is employed: the inner wall of the shrinkable cavity (or the outer conical sleeve) features a precision conical surface that slides in mating engagement with the conical surface on the back of the shrinkable mold petals. When the upper die presses down, the mold petals converge toward the center along the conical surfaces; during the return stroke, the petals automatically open, facilitating part removal.
Modular quick-change structure : By replacing the shrinkage module, the same mold assembly can accommodate rim profiles of varying diameters and widths. The shrinkage segments and the shrinkage base are connected in a detachable manner, enabling rapid changeovers and ensuring high mold versatility.
High-wear-resistant design : The critical working surface of the contraction mold flap (the contact area with the rim) is manufactured from Cr12MoV tool steel and undergoes vacuum heat treatment to achieve a hardness of HRC 60 or higher. It can be optionally equipped with detachable wear-resistant inserts; when worn, only the inserts need to be replaced to restore precision, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
Automatic demolding mechanism : Built-in Material-feeding ring/material-feeding plate After shrinkage is complete, gently eject the rim from the mold cavity to prevent it from getting stuck and improve production efficiency. -1 。
